2nd hour - Art I
Prerequisites: None. This course is open to students in Grades 9,10,11, and 12.
Description : Students are offered the opportunity to explore various visual art forms and techniques in an introductory level course. Students will be introduced to a variety of media through two-dimensional and three-dimensional approaches to creating and responding to visual arts. Ceramics, drawing, mixed media, painting, printmaking, and sculpture are some of the art processes that are explored during the year.
Field trips to art museums, art exhibits, and art festivals are used to achieve visual art appreciation. Another activity that encourages visual art appreciation is the Annual Student Art Show, where students display their own work.
