This course will cover the following areas as focused on in PASS and Common Core standards:

Review of grammar, sentence structure, and writing conventions.

Writing of all genres with extra focus on persuasive techniques, analysis, evaluation, and incorporation of research using MLA standards. Writing will emphasize logical constructions with concrete and supporting details.

World literature that examines fiction, non-fiction, drama, and poetry Emphasis on analysis and evaluation of non-fiction "real world" contemporary literature including but not limited to editorials and articles from current newspapers and magazines.
