Seven beautiful young ladies represented the 2012-2013 fall homecoming court and were recognized in a ceremony last Friday night.
Senior Savannah Godwin, dressed in a shimmery silver gown, dazzled the crowd as she was crowned before the Elgin v. Elk City homecoming game. Savannah, daughter of Matt and Stephanie Godwin, was escorted by J.R. Vaughn, son of James and Karolyn Vaughn. 2011-2012 homecoming queen, Libby Erickson, daughter of Sheldon and Heidi Erickson, was on-hand to assist in the coronation. She was escorted by flower girl, Allie Albert, and crown bearer, Tres Lorah. Allie is the daughter of Michael and Beverly Albert, and the granddaughter of Richard and Joan VanHorn and Rob and Connie Albert. Tres, the son of Curtis and Tomi Lorah, is also the grandson of Leroy and Pat Horn and Robert and Glenda Lorah.
Savannah is the Student Council President, the senior class vice president, link crew commissioner, and is also actively involved in NHS and Key Club. Savannah also plays softball and soccer.
The other 6 members of the homecoming court included: Britnie Mendenhall, daughter of Sidney and Cericee Mendenhall, representing band. Britnie was escorted by Jacob Phillips, son of Tom and Emily Phillips. Whitney Peace, daughter of Daniel and Debbie Peace, represented Dance. Senior Brendan Timmons, son of Mike Timmons and Amy Hoover, was her escort. Representing football was Summer Cizek, daughter of Sherry Cizek, and she was escorted by Brandon Haag, son of Christopher and Nydia Haag.
Makyla McKean, representing cross country, is the daughter of Jeremy and Shelley McKean, and James Brenner, son of Diane Brenner and Charles Brenner, was her escort. Representing volleyball was Gabriella Ramirez, daughter of Luis and Lisa Ramirez. Gabby’s escort was Brian Betcher, son of Evanna Betcher. Senior Alison Tate completed the court. Alison, daughter of Brian and Christy Tate, represented softball, and she was escorted by Jeff Spencer, son of Charles and Michelle Spencer.
